The Key to Finding the Perfect Wedding Location

The Key to Finding the Perfect Wedding Location

There are so many things to be considered when planning a wedding, but probably the most important of all, is the location. Where do you want to get married? There are hundreds and thousands of amazing wedding venues and locations for your special day, but it all comes down to where you want the vows to take place. Some people know exactly where they want to get married, as it’s something they dream of for a long time, which enables them to narrow down the potential locations to choose from. Perhaps you want a completely traditional wedding at a local church, or maybe you want to be more adventurous and exotic and have a wedding on the beach somewhere abroad. Whatever you have in mind, finding the perfect wedding location is a process that takes time and consideration.

Book the venue early

Wedding venues can get booked up pretty quickly, and if you’ve already set an ideal date in mind, you need to be quick to ensure that your desired venue is available at this time. Of course, when it comes to finding the perfect location, you can’t rush. Quite often, people will know instantly when they view the venue in person that it is the one, however you should arrange to visit several venues to ensure that you are choosing the right one. A lot of the time, people will start viewing venues and locations pretty soon after they are engaged for this very reason. Weddings take a lot of organisation, and getting the venue booked early will allow you to continue making the necessary arrangements with much more ease and feeling calm.

Visit multiple locations

Without having visited a few different potential locations, you can’t be sure that you’ve found the perfect one. Viewing places online can be very different to viewing them in person. In person you get a real feel of the venue and everything about it, and you are able to picture how things would work and flow on the day. Therefore, we advise that you research potential locations, and organise a visit to each of these so that you can compare them and see whether or not they are perfect for your wedding.

List the things most important to you

If you are struggling to choose a venue or to narrow down the available options, a good way to help you choose is to make a list of what’s most important to you. That way, you will be able to shortlist the venues and just focus on  a select few. You could go traditional in a church, or maybe something a bit more rustic, like in a mill or barn under wooden beams. There are all sorts of different wedding locations you could choose from, and so narrowing down the things that matter most to you will help you to settle on the exact types of places you want to look at and really consider. There are also other factors to consider, such as the size of the venue and how many guests it is able to accommodate for, as well as accessibility to your guests, like for example how far away it is and if it would be easy for friends and family to travel to.
